Scientific Faculty Leader
Marcelo Gama de Abreu is Full Professor of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine, and Vice-Director of department at the University Hospital Carl Gustav Carus, Technische Universität Dresden, Germany. He leads the ECMO and the Thoracic Anesthesia Programs, as well as the experimental and clinical research activities in his department, where he mentored more than 40 fellows until now. Marcelo served as chair of the Respiration Subcommittee of the European Society of Anaesthesiology (ESA), and is a current member of its Board of Directors.

Ilona Bobek is Head of the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine at DPC-OHII, in Budapest, Hungary. She was awarded the scientific degree of PhD in Medical Sciences and spent her sabbatical at Department of Nephrology, San Bortolo Hospital, Vicenza, Italy. She is member of several professional societies and recently became a member of ESA Board of Directors.

Speakers
Paolo Pelosi is currently Full Professor of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine, Director of Anesthesia and Intensive Care, Director of the Regional Poison Control Center, Director of the Specialty School in Anesthesiology, at University Hospital Policlinico San Martino-IRCCS for Oncology,  the Department of Surgical Sciences and Integrated Diagnostics (DISC) University of Genoa, Genoa, Italy. Further, in the past he served as President of European Society of Anesthesiology and awarded as Fellow of the European Respiratory Society (FERS).
Hua Zheng is attending physician of the Department of Anesthesiology, Tongji Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, P.R. China. He was awarded the doctoral degree at the Department of Anesthesiology, Intensive Care Medicine and Pain Therapy, University Hospital Münster, Germany (Direktor: Prof. Hugo Van Aken), and worked as postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Anesthesia, Critical Care and Pain Medicine, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, USA (Direktor: Prof. Jeanine Wiener-Kronish). He is a member of Chinese Association of Anesthesiologists.
Giacomo Grasselli is Professor of Anaetsheiology and Intensive Care at the University of Milan. He is responsible of the Intensive Care Unit  “E. Vecla” at the Fondazione IRCCS “Ca’ Granda” – Ospedale Maggiore in Milan.  He is the coordinator of the network of intensive care units in Lombardy.
